The Door That Fear Opens
On bypassing powerlessness, borrowed certainty, and the return to your own knowing
Something is moving through the collective right now that I have been sitting with for several weeks, watching it take shape not just with the women I speak with but in the broader cultural conversation and experience. I think the pattern I’m seeing is both understandable and genuinely dangerous, and because the women who read this are discerning enough to hear it, I feel like I can be a bit more direct or even blunter than I would be in the broader social media spectrum.
So like, maybe you’ve noticed, but… the world is loud with fear right now. Real fear, generated by real events that are, in my opinion, orchestrated to generate more fear. It’s almost as if the currency we’re working with is fear! The sense of powerlessness that accompanies it isn’t imagined, or is it a sign of spiritual immaturity, and it’s definitely not something that more positive thinking will resolve. It is an honest response to circumstances that are genuinely destabilizing, and it deserves to be named as such before anything else is said.
What I want to speak to is not the fear itself, but what happens inside it when it is not met, which is a bit of a fine line because I certainly do espouse not letting fear take over… That darkness loves to feed on our light, but ignoring it doesn’t make it go away either.
When powerlessness is bypassed
There is a particular movement that happens when fear becomes unbearable, and the feeling of having no control becomes too much to sit with. Rather than moving toward the feeling and allowing it to be fully experienced, the instinct is to move away from it, and to do so as quickly as possible. This is a deeply human response. It is also, energetically, one of the most costly things a sensitive person can do.
When the feeling of fear and powerlessness is bypassed rather than acknowledged, it doesn’t magically dissolve; it goes underground and in going underground it creates a particular kind of hunger, a hunger for certainty, for someone who seems to have answers, for a framework that makes the chaos navigable, for the felt sense of solid ground beneath your feet… even if that ground belongs to someone else. That hunger is what opens the door.
I have been watching that door open wide in recent months, actually scratch that…YEARS.
What is positioned at the door
The false prophet and the grifter are not new phenomena. They’ve always emerged most visibly during periods of collective fear and disorientation, because fear is precisely the condition that makes people most willing to hand over their discernment in exchange for the relief of certainty.
What is particular about this moment is the scale and speed at which that exchange is happening, and the degree to which otherwise grounded, intelligent, spiritually aware women are participating in it.
This isn’t a judgment, but it is an observation made with genuine care and understanding, because I count myself among the sensitive, and I understand the pull toward a steady voice in an unsteady time and have also fallen prey to people more than willing to offer their version of certainty rather than support me in building strength within my own discernment.
I know that even my use of the term prophet can elicit a whole range of triggers, and I’m kind of doing this on purpose. The term “prophet” means an individual regarded as a divinely inspired messenger or intermediary who conveys messages from a deity to humanity, often focusing on teaching, moral insight, and sometimes foretelling future events. They are viewed as "forthtellers" who speak God's truth, rather than just "foretellers" of the future, serving as spokespeople for divine will.
How many personalities can you think of off the top of your head that are positioning themselves as this exact being?
What I want to name is this: The false prophet doesn’t always look like what or who you expect. They do not always arrive with grandiose claims or obvious red flags. They often appear as the most compelling, certain, and reassuring presence available amidst chaos and confusion. They speak with authority, offer a map when everything feels unmapped and name what you’re feeling before you have found the words for it yourself, and in that moment of recognition, they grab a foothold in your consciousness.
The willingness to believe the extraordinary, the conspiratorial, the energetically dramatic, doesn’t come from gullibility.
OK sometimes it does, but mostly it comes from an energetic field that’s saturated with unprocessed fear and desperate for relief.
Darkness, in my direct experience working in this as a Professional Master Clearer™, feeds on exactly that frequency. Fear that isn’t metabolized doesn’t simply sit quietly in the body. It transmits and feeds on your light, and that transmission creates a particular kind of vulnerability that those operating without integrity are very practiced at finding.
The cost of borrowed ground
There’s a real cost to relying on someone else's certainty during your own season of fear. The most immediate cost is discernment. When you outsource your sense of safety to an external voice on an ongoing basis, you gradually lose access to your own signal. The inner knowing that’s always guided you becomes harder to hear beneath the noise of someone else's framework. Over time, you find yourself measuring your own perceptions against theirs, deferring to their interpretation of events, their reading of energy, their version of what’s true.
This is how power is given away, not all at once, and not always obviously. It happens incrementally, in the small daily choices to reach outside rather than inside, to look for confirmation rather than clarity, to follow rather than discern.
The deeper cost is energetic. A field that is organized around fear and sustained by borrowed certainty becomes genuinely more porous, more vulnerable to even more interference, and less able to access the guidance that is already present within it.
Where your power actually is
The powerlessness you’re feeling right now is real. I want to say that again clearly, because spiritual bypassing often begins with the subtle suggestion that the feeling itself is the problem to be solved, and it is not. That feeling is accurate information about the conditions we’re living in, and it deserves to be met with honesty.
What I’ve found, both in my own experience and in the work I do with clients, is that the return to your own clarity almost always begins with the willingness to sit inside the feeling that was being avoided. Not to wallow in it or amplify it, but simply to acknowledge it as true without immediately reaching for relief or even needing to fix it. That acknowledgment is itself a reclamation that says: I’m here, I’m human, this is real, and I am capable of being with what is true without needing someone else to fix it or soothe me.
Your power does not return by finding the right teacher, the right framework, or the right voice to follow through the uncertainty; it returns when you come back to your own awareness, your own perception, your own knowing. That requires something the collective noise is most effectively designed to prevent: stillness and being with what is, even in the discomfort. Sometimes, in the discomfort, you end up clearing enough space within, and your own voice becomes audible again.
A note on the field itself
For those who work with energy, who are practitioners, healers, coaches, or sensitive professionals navigating both the collective field and the demands of their own practice, this moment carries a specific risk worth naming. Years of being this open and doing sensitive work with clients and spaces leave you with accumulated residue in your field. When the collective fear frequency is as high as it currently is, that accumulation happens faster, and its effects are more pronounced. The fogginess, the unusual fatigue, the sense that your own guidance is harder to access than it used to be, these aren’t signs of personal failure, but are signs that your energetic field needs tending.
A Professional Master Clearing™ removes what has accumulated in your subtle energy body that doesn’t belong there: dark elements, cords and other unseen things absorbed from clients and collective spaces. Some of what is cleared is gone permanently, and some elements can return simply from living and working in the world, which is why, for many of the women I work with, this becomes an ongoing practice of energetic hygiene rather than a single intervention. If you’ve been sensing that something in your field needs clearing, that sense is worth trusting.
Both a Professional Master Clearing™ and a SoulPoint Journey are available when you are ready. You can find more information on either by clicking the hyperlinks within this article.
