How I Entered the World of Coaching

I came to coaching through the world of personal development. The first seminar I attended was called Choices when I was twenty-one in Vancouver, BC. I later learned it was developed by Dr. Phil (yes, THE) and an associate who eventually split and ran it with volunteers, as many programs do. I learned a lot about myself in that five-day container, even though the last day encouraged people to “find Jesus,” which landed poorly for many, including the many residential school survivors who were in attendance. I definitely did not find Jesus that day, and it took me years to understand that some of these programs are designed in ways that can become predatory, even when intentions begin as good.

I became pregnant with my first child soon after, which likely kept me from giving more unpaid time to that organization. Still, I was struck by how quickly perspective can shift. About eighteen months after my eldest was born, I attended The Secret to Creating Your Future, an introductory weekend on NLP. Again, I was moved by how techniques could create change. I immersed myself in NLP and listened to Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within box set of cassettes.

I hesitated to share this, given what we now know about these men and how these tools have been used for mass manipulation, unethical sales, and cult-like dynamics. I also want to note that I could have easily been absorbed into groups like NXIVM because of overlapping methods, and that much language in these worlds carries built-in bias and quiet white supremacy, including ideas like “there is no victimhood.” It took time for me to see the assumptions threaded through it all.

Eventually, I became certified as an NLP Practitioner and trained in Hypnosis while aiming for a government career. Once there, I learned facilitation and volunteered for any meeting that needed a steady presence. I became the person colleagues sought for emotional knots in between drafting SOPs and building workflows. I was miserable; I am not designed for the government, benefits or not, so I left after five years. That was the start of my liberation. Soon after, I left my marriage.

My life needed an overhaul.

Another decade passed as I added to my toolbelt. I kept choosing a steadier income because single motherhood made it practical. After two layoffs, I finally listened. I knew I was meant to help people build lives they could live with. When two offers arrived in the same week, I sat with a real choice. One was a permanent government job, ten years after I had sworn off the government. The other was a contract with a U.S. company as a remote business coach with no guarantee of clients, my dream job at the time. I knew which path was right for me. I was not sure it was right for my situation.

I chose the risk.

There is a quiet cost to leading when your energy is stretched thin. Professional demands pull on clarity and pace, and decisions begin to feel heavy. I spent much of my early professional life as a single mom, feeling that way. The real shift came when I steadied my own signal. I chose work that lit me up, even with risk. It began slowly and then gave me a life that protects my soul, so the part of me that can do everything no longer has to. When my system relaxed, my own leadership became simpler.

I spent eight years coaching lawyers in business building and personal development. I created a coaching curriculum, mentored other coaches and built a kickass team while my clients built six and seven-figure practices. I joined the leadership team as Coaching Team Director, but this took me away from working with people directly, and I was out of my flow once more. Eventually, it was time to realign with my own call; my success was no longer tied to a ladder. I stepped away to support entrepreneurs at a different pace and to help each person define success on their own terms. I left knowing I am a strong coach with a lot to offer across fields.

How my spiritual work lives inside grounded coaching

People will often remark that they are surprised by how strategic and grounded I am despite the way my marketing leads with the spiritual work. My work is with the light, and it is practical. We are multifaceted beings, and I believe that business success thrives when we are aligned in body, mind AND spirit! When interference is present, it not only blocks the individual but also their business as well. I offer Professional Master Clearing™ to remove dark elements and all interference related; this restores light in the auric field and subtle energy body, so judgment steadies, obstacles become solvable, and your calendar becomes workable. If no clearing is needed, I never force it.

You and I map a cadence for the outcomes that matter to you, whether financial, professional, personal, or relational. We clean up the scope and money agreements so energy leakage stops. We refine communication so it becomes more relational. We set boundaries that others can feel without you feeling performative. The aim is simple: a structure you can live with, so your soul doesn’t have to fight your calendar or your team if you have one.

Coaching with me turns steadiness into repeatable, enjoyable patterns that hold under pressure. I meet you where you’re at and make space for your non-linear intelligence to inform the work. When your grounded side and your intuitive side move together, your business benefits.

For leaders who want depth that does not cost their energy, the shifts are practical. Decisions get clearer. Open loops close sooner. Meetings shorten. Time returns to your day. Over time, the steadiness you hold becomes the way your team moves.

If this is for you, message me, and we can begin. If someone in your world needs this, you are welcome to share it. Referrals are always appreciated.
